Lars Holte Nielsen
Lars is the Director of Central Denmark EU Office and leader of the office in Brussels. His primary responsibilities are leadership, coordination, strategy, administration and contact to the board and owners.
Lars holds an MD in Political Science and has previously worked in the Danish Ministry of Industry, Business and Financial Affairs as well as the European Commission.
Birgitte Karnøe Frederiksen
Deputy Head of Office and EU chief advisor
Birgitte is in charge of the green area and foods. She is responsible for the following areas: energy, environment, bio- and circular economy, climate and transport. She is also responsible for CDEU’s participation in the 'Coast t
Birgitte holds an MD in Political Science and Spanish from Aarhus University and has worked with international projects in Brussels for many years, including the European Commission. She has also worked at the Danish NATO representation in Brussels and taught International Politics at the Royal Danish Defence College. From 2007-2010, Birgitte worked at the Aalborg representation office in Beijing.
Thomas Steen Hansen
EU special advisor
Thomas is responsible within our area of business and innovation.
Thomas holds an MD in Business Adminitration and a BA in Civil Enigneering. He has previously worked at the municipality of Ringkøbing-Skjern as a Development Advisor in the growth and business development areas.
EU special advisor
Lina works with research and education for Aarhus University. She is also responsible for the area of education at CDEU.
Lina holds an MD in Business Communication and has written an extended thesis on Political Rhetorics. She has previously worked at TDC in Denmark and in Brussels for the company Intel and the NGO Eurogroup for Animals. Lina has also worked at the Danish Permanent EU Representation and Embassy in Brussels.
Elena works within education and is responsible for the cooperation with VIA University College. Furthermore, she is part of our business team.
Elena holds an MA in International and Global History from Aarhus University and holds a BA in History and European Studies from Aarhus and Leipzig University.
Julie Sand Jørgensen
Julie works with culture, education, tourism and the European regional initiative Gateway to Europe. She is also responsible for arranging events and study visits.
Julie holds an MD in Art History from Aarhus University with studies of Marketing from University of Leicester in England, as well as Tourism Management from the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia. She has previously worked at the Aarhus 2017 project 'Rethink' and Dokk1. Julie has also worked at Kunsthal Aarhus and Biennale of Sydney.
Signe Waltoft Madsen
Signe works within our green team at CDEU.
Signe holds an MD in Environmental Planning from Roskilde University. She has previously worked with policy in the energy and food areas at WWF and Novozymes.
Anita Holten Carlson
Anita works as Communications Manager at CDEU.
Anita has been with CDEU since 2015. She is responsible for our internal as well as our external communication. She holds a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Denmark and has worked at the regional TV station TV2EAST In Denmark. In 2010, she moved first to the US and then to Brussels, where she worked as a correspondent at the Danish Permanent Representation.
